Innovative Uses for Your Silk Scarf

You don’t always need to spend money on a completely new outfit to refresh your style. Sometimes, all you need to do is add a versatile accessory into the mix. And with warmer weather on the horizon, something as simple as a  women’s accessory box could have everything you need to revamp your wardrobe.

A silk scarf, for instance, can dramatically transform an old outfit, making it feel new and unique. The following are just a few examples of ways you can use a scarf to add character to your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

The Classic Style

A basic but effective way to wear a scarf is to simply wrap it around your neck twice and tie it in a classic knot (or a more unique knot if you prefer). Tuck the ends into a button-up blouse to make an otherwise ordinary work outfit a lot more colorful.

Transforming Accessories

A scarf is the kind of accessory that can be used to transform your other accessories from a summer subscription box in a number of ways. For example, if you want to make an older handbag feel new again, you can fold your scarf into a thin strip and wrap it around the handle to add some accent color. You could also tie it in a bow if that’s more appealing to you. Go with whatever matches your personal style.

Adding Hair Accents

You probably know that warm weather can make it difficult to keep your hair away from your face. Often, the best solution is to simply pull it back with a headband, but if you really want to make a statement, use a scarf.

Fold it into a three-inch strip, create a knot in front of your forehead, then fasten it all together at the base of your neck. You can either let the ends hang loosely behind you, or tuck them under for a neater look. If you have a ponytail, wrap it around the base for a unique effect.

Refreshing an Old Clutch

Have an old clutch you want to find new uses for? If so, a scarf can help. Start by folding it into a very thin strip, then insert it beneath the closure flap, pulling it through and tying it in a knot at the top to turn the clutch into a shoulder bag. Additionally, since the scarf makes for an easy-to-adjust strap, you could turn it into a trendy belt bag if you prefer.

As these examples make clear, a scarf is a very useful accessory to have in your wardrobe. Use it right, and you can transform your style without buying a bunch of new outfits.
